I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write this poem, My Church, which is part of a collection of poems, titled True Love’s Revelation. The collection was written in 2018 and published in May 2019.
I felt led by the Lord to share this poem today. At the time of writing it, I didn’t understand what it meant, and in some respects I still don’t. However, I think this poem and the times that we are living in is an invitation from God to pay attention and listen. I think it’s an invitation from God for us to turn back to Him–our first love. It’s an invitation for us to repent, go relentlessly after Him and His will, and be the Church He has commanded us to be.
This is a time of correction, shaking and awakening for the Church. As a Church, we have become comfortable, and we are not growing in our comfort. We are becoming stagnant an ineffective. I think it’s important for all of us, as believers in Christ, to pay attention to the signs of the time and what God is saying through them.
This is not about condemnation. It’s about correction. You can always discern the difference between God’s voice and Satan’s voice. Satan is an accuser, condemner, and snuffs out all hope. When God brings correction, it is conviction about an action that grieves Him. However, conviction comes with love, hope, and an invitation to change course.
Be encouraged! God is doing something amazing in His Bride–the Church!
