I want to encourage you today that no matter where you are, what you’re going through, or what it looks like, pray. Pray to the One who can change things: God.
It’s been a season wrought with testing, trials, and discomfort. However, I have found that God has shown Himself to be everything I thought I would lack in this season. He has been my provider, my peace, my strength, my hope, my joy, and my refuge.
I have seen Him be these things in my life because I have invited Him to be these things through prayer. When it was dark, I invited the light of the world in (John 8:12). When I was weak, I cried out to my strength (Psalm 28:7). When my heart was weary and anxious, I welcomed the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Isn’t it amazing that you find out God is all that you need when He is all that you have!
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Do you know that when you pray, God quiets your anxious and worried mind and heart with peace? Do you know that when you pray the will of the Father, He hears you. And if He hears you then you have the petitions you’ve asked for (1 John 5:14-15). The will of the Father is everything that is in His word. Be led by the Holy Spirit–pray and declare His word over your life and circumstances! Do you know that when you pray, God starts working to answer your prayer in His timing and according to His will (See Daniel 10:12-14).
So today, don’t suffer in silence. You are not alone, and you don’t have to fight on your own. We serve the One, true living God. The God who sees and hears. The God who is near and not far off. The God who tells us to cast our burdens on Him. The God who is, can, and wants to be everything that you need. Won’t you invite Him in to protect, perfect, rule, and reign in every part of your life today? Be encouraged! You are loved!
