This has been a difficult and uncomfortable season that I’ve tried to abort many times. However, I’ve learned that when I submit and surrender to the Lord, I have to do it His way. It’s a losing and hopeless battle to “kick against the goads” and resist the will of God.
Instead of fighting against the Lord and His will for my life right now, I’ve accepted it. I’ve also accepted the Lord’s invitation to lean into Him and rest. I’ve decided that I won’t complain or grumble like the children of Israel. I’m going to trust my refuge and strongtower. I’m going to trust His plan and purpose for my life knowing that if I humble myself under His mighty hand, He will exalt me in due time (1 Peter 5:6-7).
So, I want to encourage you today. I know you may be weary and tired. I know that you’re ready for things to change, but I challenge you today to lean into God and rest. Lay your burdens down. Cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you. Lay down your expectations and ask the Lord what He has for you during this season. Ask Him to teach you the lessons you need to learn. Learn what you need to learn. Get what you need to get.
Understand that nothing that we go through is wasted. God will work all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. So, no more fighting His will. No more resistance. Let go, lean in, and rest in the Lord. It’s a lot more peaceful and rewarding that way. ❤
“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his work as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience” (Hebrews 4:9-11).
