Thank you Jesus…

This statement should elicit praise but as it did for me, it should also elicit self- examination, conviction, and repentance.

Although the world looks dark right now, we as believers and followers of Jesus Christ, are supposed to be light (Matthew 5:14). Although there are many people sowing and being enticed to walk in discord, offense, division, and dissension, we are called to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9).

So, my brothers and sisters let’s light the way.

Let’s love others how the Lord loves us! Let’s make peace! Let’s love and forgive, even when we don’t want to…even when our ego is bruised! Let’s bear with one another in love! Let’s speak the truth in love! Let’s esteem one another better than ourselves! Let’s have mercy and compassion! Let’s not just be hearers of the Word but doers! Let’s be children of the most high God!

  • “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35).
  • “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13).
  • “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself” (Philippians 2:3).
  • “I, therefore, as a prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-3).
