“Your power is staying in step with Me.” The Lord told me this one day during my quiet time with Him.
Although this was a personal word for me, I can’t help but think how applicable it is for all believers and followers of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 139:16 tells us that God created us and fashioned (scheduled, planned) our days:
“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”
Furthermore, Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Therefore, no matter who you are, God created you, and He has the blueprint for your life. He knows your end from your beginning–down to the most minute detail.
You can trust Him with your life. You can follow Him. He will not lead you astray.
In this life, the challenge is truly believing you can trust Him when life happens and the enemy works overtime to tempt you into believing that you can’t trust God and you need to take things into your own hands.
I’m currently in that place right now. My circumstances aren’t what I want them to be, but I choose to stay close to God and continue to do the last thing He told me to do.
I have come to a place of surrender. Surrendering every dream. Every thought about who I want to be or would be. I’ve accepted that my life is not my own. The life I live, I live it unto Christ. So, if He says remain, I remain. If He says go, I go.
It’s taken me quite a while to get here but I’ve come to find that my treasure isn’t in this world. My treasure is seated at the right hand of the Father: Jesus Christ. If I have Him, I have everything I could ever want or need.
So, I want to encourage you today. Find out what the Lord wants you to do, and do it! No matter how difficult, uncomfortable or even rewarding. Do it! Being close and in step with the Lord is the best place to be!
