Are you enduring sound doctrine or do you have itching ears?
The Lord corrected me and even opened my eyes to discern false teaching I was listening to. Sometimes, as believers, we want to listen to preachers and teachers that preach and teach us happy and pump us up. Preaching and teaching that entertain us. Preaching and teaching we want but not what we need.
We walk away feeling good about ourselves–for a time. Our flesh has feasted on what is unfruitful and our spirit man is starving because we are not being fed the word of God.
Sometimes, we don’t even know we’re under false teaching until we judge it against God’s word.
Understand that in order for you to grow and mature in your relationship with God you need sound, biblical teaching. In order to know God, you need to know His Word. In order to discern the voice of God, you need to know His word. In order to discern between truth and error, you need to know the word of God.
So, I want to encourage you as the Lord has been encouraging me. Take the time, to not only read His word, but study it. Ask the Lord to open your eyes, ears, and heart to discern any false teaching or doctrine you are taking in.
One of the most dangerous and destructive things you can do is sit under the teaching of someone who is teaching a false gospel and false god. You need to know the one, true living God of the Bible. You need to know the ONLY God who saved us through the life, death, burial, and resurrection of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
This all begins and ends with the word of God. Happy reading and studying! ❤
