You’re Going to Be Okay

It’s been a hard season for so many, me included. It’s like the most difficult season ever that won’t end. But I’m coming to understand that it’s not necessarily about the season ending or the circumstances changing. Don’t get me wrong, we want them to change. I WANT THEM TO CHANGE! Lol However, God is teaching us a greater lesson.

Scripture tells us that more perilous times are coming. As Christians, good soldiers of Jesus Christ, we have to learn to endure. No matter what the circumstances look like, we have to be able to keep our focus fixed on Jesus. When everything is falling apart around us, we have to run to our Refuge, Strength, and Song: the God of hope and all comfort.

In Psalm 63:1, when David was in the wilderness of Judah, he said:

“O, God, You are my God; early will I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”

Before this season, it was hard for me to understand how David could seek God first instead of what he desperately needed to survive. Wouldn’t he seek his sustenance first? But now I see that David was seeking his sustenance first. God is the one who sustains us and keeps us alive. He is our Source and everything else is just a resource God chooses to use.

This season is teaching me that I have to seek God first in spite of everything else that’s screaming for me to put it in first place. Every time I do, I see that it’s possible to have: peace in the chaos, joy in the pain, and rest in the storm. And His precious name is Jesus Christ! Run to Him today. You’re going to be okay.

Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤
