Trust in the Lord with all of your heart…

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart

To trust God with your whole heart is to believe Him without doubting or wavering. Your perspective is: God said it and that’s what it is…no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

If you’re having trouble trusting God, read the Word of God, (the Bible) because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). It’s hard to trust someone you don’t know, and it’s even harder to believe someone you don’t trust. So start reading the truth that God has already revealed in His Word.

Lean not on your own understanding

In those seasons and situations that try and test us, we have a tendency to lean on our own understanding. We use our own wisdom and understanding to try to figure things out or decide what we should do.

God rightfully tells us not to do this because our wisdom and understanding is finite and limited. Even with the wisdom that God gives us, we still don’t know what He knows. We still can’t see what He sees (Isaiah 55:8-9).

That’s why He tells us not to lean on our own understanding because we don’t have the complete picture. We don’t have all of the facts. If we rely on what we know, we could make the wrong decision and be led astray. Understand that the wisdom you possess could be earthly, sensual, and demonic or heavenly (James 3:13-18). Either way, it’s limited so don’t depend on it. Wait until you hear from the Lord. You are not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths

In every season and situation, we must acknowledge God and seek Him for guidance and direction. It’s foolish and dangerous not to do so: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12).

God fashioned your days. He is the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He knows your end from your beginning. We must run to the Lord, seek Him, and wait for Him to tell us what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and where to do it. As children of God, we must only do what He has endorsed and ordained.

Be encouraged! You are loved!
