When you don’t like God’s answer…

Sometimes in life, we pray to God and He answers in ways we do not expect. We don’t always like His answer because it’s not the answer we want.

Sometimes, His answer means we have to:

Endure more.

Suffer longer.

Yield.

Surrender.

Lay down our life.

Exchange our will for His, declaring: “Not my will but Yours be done.”

Have patience.

Wait.

In those moments, when His answer is one I did not want, I do not like, and I did not expect, I…

I say “thank you Jesus” because He answered, and I know that He is righteous in all of His ways and gracious in all of His works (Psalm 145:17).

I remember that in EVERY circumstance and situation, He is good.

I remember that He loves me.

I remember that He is for me and not against me.

I remember that He is working all things together for My good because I love Him, and I am called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

I remember that “our light affliction, which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

I remember that the “sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).

I remember that He will never leave me nor forsake me.

I remember that He is the Potter, and I am the clay. “Shall the clay say to Him who forms it, “What are You making?” (Isaiah 45:9).

I remember that He is the Father, and I am the child.

I remember that He is God, and I am not.

I remember that His thoughts are not My thoughts and His ways are not My ways.

I remember…His promises.

If you are struggling with an answer you received from God, run to Him not from Him. Sit still and remember what’s true.

Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤
