Wisdom Wednesday: Are you alone in your suffering?

No. Although you may be alone and feel alone, you’re not alone in your suffering. The Lord is with you. He sees you. He knows where you are. He knows what you need and how to get it to you.

Now, if you’re like me, you may have asked yourself this: if He’s with me, why doesn’t He bring me out of this? Why doesn’t He stop my suffering?

During these past two years, I’ve experienced hardship and suffering like never before. During certain moments, when things seemed almost unbearable, I would hear (not audibly) the Lord say: “I am with you.”

If I’m being honest, a part of me would think, what good is that if you’re not bringing me out or changing the situation. #Pride

It wasn’t until God opened my eyes to see rightly. In John 16:33, Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

In this fallen world, we’re going to experience seasons of trial, tribulation, and suffering. God didn’t promise us a problem-free life. He promised us Himself–that He would never leave us nor forsake us.

Sometimes God will deliver us from our suffering by bringing us out. Other times, He will walk with us through it, until we reach the other side.

Sometimes God uses our suffering to transform us (Hebrews 5:8) and reveal more of who He is to us.

Therefore, if you are in a “walk through” instead of a “deliver out” season of suffering, rest in the Lord. Trust Him. He loves you. The Lord is righteous in all of His ways and gracious in all of His works (Psalm 145:17). Thus, He is ALWAYS righteous and gracious toward you.

Understand that you don’t have to walk through this on your own. You have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. He is your helper, comforter, and teacher. Call upon Him. He will strengthen you and enable you to stand and endure.

Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤
