In Matthew 6:5-15, Jesus teaches us how to pray:
First, Jesus tells us not to pray so we can be seen by men. For those who do this, have their reward. They are seen by men.
Instead, when you pray, go into your room and pray to your Father who is in the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Furthermore, when you pray don’t use vain repetitions like a heathen (an unbeliever) would do. This person thinks they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before You ask Him, therefore you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
