Yes, you need Jesus Christ to be your Savior.
Whether you believe in God or not, you were created by Him–in His image and according to His likeness.
He is the source of all life. Job 34:14-15 states that “if He set His heart on it, if He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath, all flesh would perish together and man would return to dust.”
As His creation, whether you believe in Him or not, you are subject to His word and commandments. You will be judged. You will be held accountable for what you have done in this life.
Now, some may say: “I’m a good person. I have integrity and good moral standards.”
But can I tell you that your definition of “good” and your morals is not the standard by which you will be judged?
The standard is God’s word and commandments.
Without knowing you, I know that you have sinned against God and have not perfectly kept His word and commandments.
(1) Maybe you have told a lie or two or three, (2) Maybe you have committed adultery by lusting after a man or woman in your heart, (3) Maybe you have stolen something, (4) Maybe you have committed murder by taking someone’s life or hating someone, (5) Maybe you have had sex outside of marriage, (6) Maybe you have used God’s name in vain (as a curse word).
Based off of this, you are a blasphemer, a liar, an adulterer, a murderer, a fornicator, and a thief. Just to name a few.
This is sin. Do not be deceived. God is love, and He loves you. However, He is also a righteous and holy God who judges sin.
And He will judge your sin. Roman 6:23 tells us that the wages, the just payment, for your sin is death.
But did you know that Jesus Christ has already paid the wages for your sin? He died for the sin that you and I committed against God–against Him.
Apart from Jesus, all of us are deserving of death and condemnation because of our sin. However, when we choose to believe in Jesus, we will not come under judgement but will pass from death to life (John 5:24).
Why does all of this matter? It’s because you and I will die one day. Whether we believe in God or not…whether He was our God on earth or not…we will stand before the King, Jesus Christ, and receive our just reward.
To some, it will be death and condemnation in Hell. To those who believed in Jesus Christ, it will be eternal life with the One, true living God in heaven.
So, do you want to believe in Jesus? (1) If so, start by reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (2) Find a mature Christian who can walk you through the Scriptures. (3) Join a Bible-based church.
Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤
