There has been more than one highly publicized suicide in recent weeks. And I know some of you, who are reading this, are or may know someone who is having a difficult time right now.
The times that we find ourselves in can breed isolation, loneliness, and despair.
But, I want to tell you that you are not alone. You have a Creator, the One, true living God, who created you in His image and according to His likeness.
He formed your inward parts and covered you in your mother’s womb. You are fearfully (made full of respect, reverence, honor, and awe) and wonderfully made (Psalm 139). The very hairs on your head are numbered and God knows the number of each one–even those that fall to the ground.
Although you may not know Him or even care to know Him. He knows you and loves you. He loved you enough to send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sins so you could be reconciled to Him and have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
The Lord, Jesus Christ, cares that you’re suffering. He cares that you feel lonely and empty. He cares that you’re depressed. He cares that you want to end it all just to have peace and rest.
Not only does Jesus know, but He sympathizes with your weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that you are, but He did not sin (Hebrews 4:15).
And not only does Jesus know and sympathize, but He has the power to save you and aid you in your weaknesses (Hebrews 7:25 & Hebrews 2:14-18).
Jesus has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. However, that promise is for those who believe in Him.
Today is the day you start believing.Today is the day of your salvation. Today is the day for your healing and deliverance.
Open your Bible and read about the One who sets the captives free. Read about the Prince of Peace. Read about the God of hope and all comfort. The God who is love.
Cry out to Him. Ask Him to save you, and He will. Ask Him to help you, and He will. Ask Him what His plan is for your healing, deliverance, and restoration. Ask Him what you should do next. He will answer.
Caution: Test what you hear. Make sure it aligns with God’s word (the Bible). If it contradicts it, IT IS NOT FROM GOD.
Lastly, if you’re suffering, tell someone you can trust–even if the only One you can tell is God. Open up your mouth and speak it. Ask for help. You are not alone, and you’re not in this alone.
Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤
