This week, out of nowhere, it just hit me: God is my Father, and I am His daughter.
I thought about earthly parent and child relationships–all of the care, love, and protection that good earthly parents give their children.
How great is that love? How detailed and meticulous is that care? How robust and fortified is that protection?
If you received these things from your parent(s) growing up, they were probably your superhero. The one who could save the day–fixing anything and making everything better.
However, as you got older, your view of your parent(s) became more full and complete. Maybe the cape disappeared and you saw them for who they are: a flawed human being doing the best they can.
If our parent(s) gave all they did being limited, flawed, finite humans–made of mere dust–how much more can our Heavenly Father give us? (Matthew 7:11)
How much more will He give us if we ask Him. If we trust Him. If we believe Him. If we wait on Him. If we obey Him.
No matter what you’re going through right now, stop worrying. Lay down the anxiety, fear, and doubt.
Pick up the fact that the God of the heavens and the earth is your Father! He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. And as a good Father, He will protect and perfect you and everything that concerns you.
Rest. Believe. Receive. It’s going to be okay.
