When God calls you to do something, do it the first time.
He is not going to change His mind. Neither is He going to let you go until you do it (i.e. Jonah).
Because He is long-suffering, He may let you keep going around the same mountain until you finally do what He has called you to do. In His goodness, love, mercy, and grace toward you, He may even open doors for you to make money and support yourself. However, understand that these are detours that delay your destiny and lead to dead ends.
You are not meant to become wildly successful in these detours, because they are not your destiny. What you are putting off doing for God is!
Believe me, I know it’s hard. When God calls you to do something:
- You’re not going to be able to see the complete picture, but don’t worry, God does. He will give you the pieces of the puzzle as you need them.
- You’re going to think that you can’t do it, and you’re right. You can’t do it alone. You’re going to need God and the people He sends into your life to do what He has called you to do.
- You going to think that you don’t have what you need. Yes, you do. Sometimes, we look at everything that we don’t have and God just wants us to start where we are with what we have. As we move and are obedient in what He has called us to do, He will give us the things we need when we need them.
And on top of all of our own doubts and anxieties, the devil will be with us every step of the way to discourage us from doing what God has called us to do and tempt us to do what He has not called us to do. Don’t fall for this trick…I unfortunately have.
If you have laid down something God has called you to do, today is the day to pick it back up.
Today is the day to confess and repent of your sin. Ask the Lord to forgive you for your disobedience and slothfulness in doing what He has called you to do. Ask Him to empower you to be diligent in your work and fervent in the spirit to serve Him (Romans 12:11).
If you’re still breathing, it’s not too late. God still has a purpose and plan for your life. He will finish what He has started in you.
Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤️
