Who is Jesus?

Jesus is God (Hebrews 1:8-9). Not only does God the Father call Him God, but the New Testament confirms that Jesus possessed every attribute of God, including: (1) Eternality, (2) Immutability, (3) Omniscience, (4) Omnipresence, and (5) Omnipotence.

Specifically, Jesus is God the Son–the second Person of the Holy Trinity. He is not second because He is a lesser God than God the Father. He is considered second because He is named second in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16).

He is not a created being. He has no beginning or end. He is the eternal God from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2).

He is not an “expression” or “mode” of God the Father. He is a distinct Person of the Godhead who is one with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He functions in absolute unity and agreement with Them.

Jesus is the Messiah. He is the Savior of the world and all who place their faith in Him will be forgiven of their sins and saved from eternal death and condemnation.

Amen.
