I thought I had God figured out…well not all the way figured out. Just a little bit and in one particular area in my life. In this specific area, God has always acted consistently. God has presented the opportunities and the doors have opened without fail…until recently.
With the last opportunity, it began like it always had. Out of all the doors I had knocked on, this was the only one that was opening. Sure enough, this was the door God would open.
I went through the process. I did all of the right things and the door opened. I got the call. Success…or so I thought. Not too long after, I got another call that completely caught me off guard.
The door was now closed! I mean like shut, locked, and throw away the key type of closed. I was flabbergasted. I did not see it coming…at all!
Initially, I was anxious, worried, and confused. What am I going to do? If not that door, then which one? God what are you doing?
As of now, the anxiousness, worry, and confusion has been replaced with peace that can only come from God in times of uncertainty. I still don’t know what God is doing or what door He’s going to open, and that’s okay. Instead of trying to figure it out, I’m resting in what I know to be true about Him:
“He is good and He does good” (Psalm 119:68).
The LORD is righteous in all of His ways and gracious in all of His works. The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him. He will also hear their cry and save them. The LORD preserves all who love Him, but the wicked He will destroy” (Psalm 145:17-20).
He will never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
If you are in a time of uncertainty and you don’t know what God is doing, trust Him. Don’t focus on what you don’t know. Focus on everything you know to be true about Him.
God is with you, God is for you, and He loves you. He’s got this and He’s got you!
Be encouraged! You are loved! ❤️
