I know it’s hard. We are living in increasingly frightening and lawless times. However, today I want you to do two things if you have five to ten minutes to spare:
Did you know that as a believer, God has promised you sleep and rest?
It’s been a hard season for so many, me included. It’s like the most difficult season ever that won’t end. But I’m coming to understand that it’s not necessarily about the season ending or the circumstances changing. Don’t get me wrong, we want them to change. I WANT THEM TO CHANGE! Lol However, God is teaching us a greater lesson.
My heart is so full. I’ve been in a wilderness period for quite some time. I’ve had to endure suffering and discomfort–things that my flesh absolutely hate. I don’t like discomfort or suffering. This flesh that we’re all housed in doesn’t like it. However, I’ve been able to stand and endure it all because Jesus has been with me every step of the way.
Satan is waging a fierce battle for our hope and our hearts in this season. With everything that is going on in the world, it’s so easy to pick up and carry around anger and rage like a newly acquired purse or wallet. It’s so easy to look out into the world or even at the state of our own lives and feel hopelessness. You don’t know if your life is going to change, when it’s going to change, or how it’s going to change. But you do know that it needs to change.
I’ll be the first one to admit that there have been times in my walk with the Lord that my faithfulness and loyalty to Him was like the early morning dew that quickly disappears. At times, just like the children of Israel, I played the harlot and chased after things or gave my heart to things that were in direct rebellion to God.
One of the things I love about God is that He so loved the world, not just some of the world or only the “good” parts of the world. No, He so loved the entire world that He sent His Son to die, not just for some people but for all people. And whosoever, not just white people or black people or rich people or poor people or perfect people or almost perfect people, but ANYONE who believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life
There is so much dissension, division, violence, hatred, fear, sorrow, and despair in our country right now. It is time for the Church, the Bride of Christ, to stand together in unity. Because of the power and authority that has been given to us by Jesus Christ we do not have to sit by idly and let the enemy steal, kill, and destroy our country.
I want to encourage you today that no matter where you are, what you’re going through, or what it looks like, pray. Pray to the One who can change things: God.
The Lord said this to me one day during my quiet time with Him. He is so sweet, tender, and loving in that way. He speaks truth to the broken places within us so they can be healed. He loves us into wholeness.
