Why I Worship
To me, there are very few things that rival worshipping God. Worshipping God is an opportunity for me to honor, bless, and draw near to Him. Scripture tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). I have found this scripture to be true for myself on too many occasions to count. However, there is one occasion that I will always remember.
It was a Friday night, and being a single woman on a Friday night with no one to go out with, can sometimes make one emotional. Nevertheless, I was sitting on my floor, crying and throwing myself a pity party, when I heard the Lord say–with a still small voice: “sing to me.”
In tears, I grabbed my phone and turned on worship music. I think I may have sang one song while still lying on the floor. Before I knew it, I was running around my apartment with such joy singing loudly to the Lord. Soon, I no longer felt lonely and sad. I felt inexpressible joy. The Lord had enthroned Himself on my praise. He was there with me–changing me and the atmosphere.
Now when I feel sad, frustrated, angry or any emotion that I know is not from the kingdom of God–I try to remember to worship the Lord, and I would encourage you to do the same. Something miraculous happens when we lift our voices up to worship the King of kings and Lord of lords: Jesus Christ. Our praise becomes His throne. He uses what is meant to bless Him to bless us.
Therefore, it is my desire to use this platform to share the songs that I receive from the Lord with you. It is my sincerest hope that the Lord uses them to bless you!
